JVM COBOL supports virtually all file handling functionality. However, there are one or two features that are not supported.
The following file handling features are not supported in
JVM COBOL when using the Micro Focus File Handler:

.lbr files
- LPT[2-n] devices
- Object references specified in the file section
The following file handling features are not supported in
JVM COBOL when using the Managed File Handler:
- Fileshare
- ACUCOBOL-GT and RM/COBOL File Handlers
