Retrieve Data from InfoArchive

To automatically retrieve content from InfoArchive, create a new connector job (a Fetch Task) by following these steps. The connector runs each fetch task automatically, based on the schedule that is configured in the configuration file.

To create a new Fetch Task

  1. Stop the connector.
  2. Open the configuration file in a text editor.
  3. In the [FetchTasks] section of the configuration file, specify the number of fetch tasks using the Number parameter. If you are configuring the first fetch task, type Number=1. If one or more fetch tasks have already been configured, increase the value of the Number parameter by one (1). Below the Number parameter, specify the names of the fetch tasks, starting from zero (0). For example:

    [FetchTasks]
    Number=1
    0=MyTask
  4. Below the [FetchTasks] section, create a new TaskName section. The name of the section must match the name of the new fetch task. For example:

    [FetchTasks]
    Number=1
    0=MyTask

    [MyTask]
  1. Ensure that the relevant OAuth parameters are included in the configuration file. For example, the following line imports the relevant parameters from a file named oauth.cfg. This file is generated by the OAuth configuration tool that is supplied with the connector (see Configure OAuth Authentication).

    [MyTask] < "oauth.cfg" [OAUTH]

    For more information about importing parameters into a configuration file, see Include an External Configuration File.

  2. (Optional) If a proxy server is required to access the repository, set the following parameters.

    ProxyHost The host name or IP address of the proxy server.
    ProxyPort The port of the proxy server.
    ProxyUsername (Optional) The user name to use to authenticate with the proxy server.
    ProxyPassword (Optional) The password to use to authenticate with the proxy server.
  3. In the new section, set the configuration parameter InfoArchiveApiUrl so that the connector can communicate with the InfoArchive API.
  4. Set one of the following parameters to define the location of the search export JSON files that the connector will read to discover what information is available in the archive.

    InfoArchiveSearchExportPaths A list of paths to search export JSON files, or directories containing search export JSON files.
    InfoArchiveSearchExportUrls A list of URLs to search export JSON files.

    For example:

    [MyTask] < "oauth.cfg" [OAUTH]
    InfoArchiveApiUrl=http://10.0.0.1:8765/systemdata
    InfoArchiveSearchExportPaths0=/data/export/
  5. (Optional). You can set additional parameters to customize how the connector retrieves data from the repository. For more information about these parameters, see Synchronize Configuration.
  6. Save and close the configuration file. You can now start the connector.
