            You can use the ODBC Data Source Administrator to create a 32-bit or a 64-bit data source name (DSN) for connecting to a database:
               
               	 
            
 
            	 
             
               		
               - Start the ODBC Data Source Administrator. For instructions, see 
                  		  To start the ODBC Data Source Administrator. 
                  		
               
- In the ODBC Data Source Administrator, click the 
                  		  User DSN or 
                  		  System DSN tab. 
                  		
               
- Click 
                  		  Add. 
                  		
               
- On the 
                  		  Name list, select a database type; then click 
                  		  Finish. 
                  		  
                  This launches the Microsoft Create a New Data Source wizard. 
                     		  
                   
- Complete the fields as appropriate; then click 
                  		  OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
